The Longines FEI Endurance World Championship 2021 will be held in a protected environment inside the San Rossore Estate, an area off-limits to external interference and completely dedicated to this event for its entire duration.
The Estate, once the direct property of the President of the Italian Republic and before that of the Medici family, is enclosed in the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Park and houses the San Rossore Racecourse, an avant-garde structure and reference point for athletes and enthusiasts, that have marked the history of horse racing worldwide.
There are 6 phases on 4 different loops for a total of 160 km:
– orange 33,700 km;
– white 23,700 km;
– orange 33,200 km;
– blue 25,700 km;
– white 23,700 km;
– yellow 20,000 km.
Located on the track, there will be 16 check points manned by qualified personnel of the Italian Red Cross, 13 crew points and 27 water points.
The track, enclosed between the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west, the Arno river to the south and the Serchio to the north, is characterized by an alternation of various terrains: sand, grass and ground, ideal for the comfort of the horse.
The race will take place on totally flat and shaded terrain, whose technical characteristics make it perfect for Equestrian Endurance.
In addition to the highly technical aspects, the teams participating in the Longines FEI Endurance World Championship 2021 will be accompanied by the gentle sea breeze for the entire duration of the competition and will not fail to be amazed by the fantastic natural landscapes, which have become internationally famous.
This location hosted in 2019 the World Championships for Junior & Young Riders, the World Championship for Young Horses and in 2018 the European Championship for Junior & Young Riders.
